Columbia, Mississippi – Fifteenth Circuit Court District Attorney Hal Kittrell announces that Terry Dustin Baughman of Foxworth, Mississippi, was convicted at trial on the charges of Felony Driving Under the Influence Fourth or Subsequent Offense and Possession of a Controlled Substance, Oxycodone on February 20, 2019, and was sentenced by Circuit Judge Anthony Mozingo on February 22, 2019, as a Habitual Offender to the maximum penalty provided for each charge. Baughman was sentenced to ten (10) years on Felony Driving Under the Influence Fourth or Subsequent Offense and three (3) years on the Possession of Oxycodone. Each sentence is to run consecutive to one another for a total of thirteen (13) years. As a Habitual Offender, Baughman’s sentence is served day for day without the possibility of parole. Baughman has three prior felony convictions from Mississippi, two of which are Felony Driving Under the Influence convictions. This case was investigated by the Columbia Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Kim Harlin and James Johnson.
