Poplarville, MS Fifteenth Circuit Court District Attorney Hal Kittrell announces that Donald Williams, Jr., 47, of Picayune, Mississippi was convicted at trial on the charge of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender on October 17, 2013, and was sentenced today by Judge Anthony A. Mozingo as a Habitual Offender to life without the possibility of parole. Williams’ prior convictions are for Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 3rd Degree from Ramsey County, Minnesota in March 1995, and Aggravated Battery from Champaign County, Illinois in December 2008. This case was investigated by the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kim Harlin and Assistant District Attorney Lauren Harless.
Kittrell says, “We are pleased with the outcome and sentence in this case. Donald Williams, Jr. is a violent, sexual predator, who will no longer pose a threat to our community. This case serves as an example of our continued commitment to the prosecution of sex offenders in our area.”
