Purvis, MS – 15th Circuit Court District Attorney Hal Kittrell announces that on June 22, 2018, Ikie Mooring, 22, of Columbia, MS, was found guilty by a Lamar County Jury of Attempted Residential Burglary. The case was tried by Assistant District Attorneys Douglas E. Miller and Lauren Barnes Harless. Mooring will be sentenced Friday, July 27, 2018. Mooring faces a maximum penalty of twenty-five (25) years in prison. District Attorney Hal Kittrell states that “We are very happy with two guilty verdicts after trial this week in Lamar County. This verdict comes on the heels of a guilty verdict in a voyeurism case on Wednesday. To have your home broken into or attempted to be broken into is a serious invasion. People should feel safe in their own homes.

We appreciate the investigation undertaken by the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department.”
