Thomas Crawford Pled Guilty to the 2nd Degree Murder

Marion County, Mississippi – 15th Circuit Court District Attorney Hal Kittrell announces that on February 22, 2019, Thomas Joseph Crawford, 31, of Pearl River County, Mississippi, pled guilty to the 2nd degree murder of Sharon Lee Crawford, his grandmother. Crawford was sentenced to 40 years with 25 years to serve by Circuit Court Judge Anthony Mozingo.

On August 15, 2018, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 118 Robert Road, Picayune, MS for a welfare check on Sharon Lee Crawford. She was found to be unresponsive with apparent stab wounds to her body. Through the course and scope of their investigation Thomas Joseph Crawford was developed as a suspect and was arrested in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

Hal Kittrell stated, “Mr. Crawford will spend the next 25 years behind bars for his actions. I would like to thank the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Dept., the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Dept. and the staff of the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and Assistant District Attorney Clay Cranford for their hard work that led to this defendant to be brought to justice quickly.”
